Amenity Bookings - "Owners of a rental unit are not allowed to book amenities" error message

You may have owners contact you stating they have received an error message stating "Owners of a rental unit are not allowed to book amenities. Please contact your administrator if this doesn’t apply to your account"

This occurs as the user in question is listed as an owner in one of the available Owners groups, but their unit is marked as a rental unit.  Owners of rental units are not permitted to book the amenities by default in Condo Control.  The below steps will allow you to change the unit type to correct this if the owner does reside in their unit.

Note: Owners who live in their unit, but rent out a room of their unit should have their unit marked as an Owner Occupied unit.  This will allow both the tenants and the owner to book the amenities.  This setting should be reviewed when a unit changes ownership if it was previously a rental unit.

 

1. Enter the Unit File module.

2. Search for the unit in question and click on the unit number.

3. Select the Unit Details tab, then press Edit at the bottom of the page.

 

4. Edit the unit type to match the status of the unit such as Owner Occupied. then save your changes.
