In shared units, packages are often picked up by whoever is home, but notifications have traditionally only gone to the resident named on the label. Household package notifications let residents share package visibility with everyone in their unit, regardless of whose name is on the label. This user guide outlines how to enable this setting for your community and where to view each resident's household package notification preference.
Enable Household Package Notifications
1. Select Setup from the user menu.
2. Pick Security & Concierge from the main menu.
3. Under the Package tab, locate the setting called "Allow residents to share package visibility with their household" and click the edit icon.
4. Enable the setting and click Save.
View Package Preferences
1. Select Unit File from the main menu.
2. Open the User Details page for the applicable resident.
3. Their selection will be listed under the User tab beside "Incoming package notifications (household)."
Residents can select one of three package notification options:
- Only me: only the resident will be notified when packages addressed to them arrive.
- All resident in my unit who are in the same group as I am: only residents in the same user group will be notified i.e. if they are a renter only other renters would receive the notification - not the unit owner(s).
- All residents in my unit: everyone associated with the unit i.e. owners, renters, residents etc. will be notified.
Reminders
- Residents enabled household package notifications under My Account.
- Once enabled, other members in their unit will see the shared packages under the Packages section.
- An email notification will be sent to unit members when a shared package arrives.
- Residents can disable this email preference if they don't want to be notified, but will still see the shared packages listed in the Packages section.
