Welcome to the Security Patrol: Creating Routes & Checkpoints overview. In this video we will demonstrate how to create a patrol route, add checkpoints to a patrol route and edit checkpoints and patrol routes.

Only users with administrative permissions will have access to these features.

To get started, open the Condo Control app on your mobile device. From the main menu, select Security Patrol. This will launch the security patrol feature where you can start an existing patrol or create a new patrol route and checkpoints.

To access the patrol routes, select settings in the top right corner. This will list the existing patrol routes for your building. To add a new route, click the plus sign in the bottom right corner.

Then, enter a name for the new patrol route and click save. You will now see the new patrol route on the patrol route list. Patrol routes can only be renamed or deleted from the webapp. This will be covered in-depth in subsequent training videos.

The next step is to add checkpoints to your new patrol route. Select the patrol route from the list and click the plus sign in the bottom right corner.

You then have the option to add a new checkpoint, add an existing checkpoint or cancel.

If you select add a new checkpoint, you will then be asked to enter a checkpoint name and scan the NFC tag. Make sure NFC is enabled on your mobile device before you select scan the tag. If your mobile device does not support NFC technology, you will not be able to create a new checkpoint or complete a security patrol.

Once the tag has been scanned, you will see a message that says successfully linked tag to location. Next, click save in the top right corner. A pop-up will then appear that says new checkpoint was successfully added, click ok. You will now see the new checkpoint in the patrol route.

If you select add an existing checkpoint, you will be taken to a list of existing checkpoints for your building.  Select the appropriate checkpoint and click okay. You will now see the existing checkpoint in the patrol route. Continue this process until all the checkpoints have been added to the new patrol route.

To re-order the checkpoints for a patrol route, press and hold the three lines beside the checkpoint name, and drag it to the appropriate position in the patrol route.

To edit or remove a checkpoint, select the applicable checkpoint from the patrol route. To edit the checkpoint name, select the name field and revise the text. To delete the checkpoint from a patrol route, select the red trash can beside the route name.

You also have the option to re-scan a new tag, which replaces the existing NFC checkpoint tag with a new one or delete this spot, which would remove the checkpoint from the Condo Control system.

To finalize your changes, click save in the top right corner. You will now see your changes in the checkpoint list. To return to the patrol route list, click the back arrow in the top left corner.

This concludes the Security Patrol: Creating Routes & Checkpoints overview. For more information on the security patrol feature, please refer to our user guide.
