Condo communities often need a clear and consistent way for residents to communicate directly with the board—whether it’s to raise concerns, submit requests for review, or share feedback. Without a structured process, these messages can become difficult to track, respond to, and manage efficiently. This guide outlines how to set up a service request type specifically for contacting the board.
Refer to the video below for a demonstration on how to configure service request settings:
Service Requests: Setup Page Overview
1. Select Setup from the Welcome menu.
2. Select Service Requests from the main menu.
3. Click the Service Request Types tabs and then select Add New.
4. Name the service request type "Contact the Board" and configure the remaining settings as desired. Pick Board Members as the Administration group and if applicable assign the request type to specific board members. Once completed, click Save.
The Board Member group must have the permission "Can administer service requests" and "Can be assigned service requests" to appear on the assignee list and administration group list. Refer to the following guide for more information on permissions: How to Edit a Group and Group Permissions
5. The service request type has now been created and residents can contact the board.
Note: If assignees and also part of the administration group they will only be notified once. Refer to the following guide for more information on notifications: How to Manager Service Request Notifications
